In my opinion, the soldier is under a duty to follow orders but he should not have killed the wife for a reason. Firstly, at times, authoritative rules are illogical. The inhabitants of this town cross the river by the bridge every day, and the bridge is the only free way to across the river. Whereas these rules lead to the inhabitants with two choices which are crossing the bridge will be shot to die and paying $100 by boat. The orders executed by the soldier greatly disturbed the daily life of the inhabitants. For instance, prohibition in the United States in 1920. After the prohibition, there were significant issues in the United States, such as corruption, smuggle and violent crime.  The United Sates government had to repeal the prohibition in 1933. Thus, these rules did not fully consider the daily life of the inhabitants, and are illogical rules. The soldier should not follow the rules to kill the wife.

Through reading a woman lived with her husband in a town beside the river. I think the soldier should kill the woman. The first reason I think the soldier should kill the woman is that the requirement from leader should be strictly enforced in an army. The military criminal code is very strictly. Military officer requires the soldier to guard the bridge so the soldier should executive order. Solder has no power to know why he needs to guard the bridge but if the officer asks him to do it, it must have some strategic importance.   In my opinion, this soldier is doing the right thing for two reasons. Firstly, the soldiers have warned each other in advance.When the woman first tried to cross the bridge, the soldier had clearly told her that she could not let her pass. This means that the soldiers have fulfilled their obligation to inform. For example, the traffic police have clearly told you that the road maintenance ahead, you can not pass, and you have to be hard-hitting, and your car has an accident, which is certainly not the responsibility of the police. Secondly, the soldiers shot and killed the woman, this is his job. The professional requirements of soldiers are obeying orders, and their professional attributes determine that they use guns to maintain safety and execute orders. The soldier is under a duty to follow orders but he should not have killed the wife.He should have wounded her for two reasons. Firstly, Humans are not animals and should respect life because life is precious. The soldier should have warned the woman and shoot toward the air first or make her wounded. The soldier shouldn’t  directly kill her. If the woman is killed, her families will be broken and it can cause separation. As a result, her children will lose their mother, and even though make them traumatized at the young age. Secondly, the wife is innocent because she used to walk this bridge to bake her home. she didn’t get any notice that the bridge couldn’t be taken and it was the only way home for the wife. Also, the wife didn’t hold any weapons to flight the soldier, so she is innocent.

I have a fulfilling life because of my work and study. Firstly, my work make me have a fulfilling life because I set up own business 20 years ago in China.
