Academic lectures(May 28th)


 Academic lectures are different from everyday conversation because a lecture use academic languages and subject specific words for teaching in the class or writing a thesis.

 Firstly, the academic languages often use for university students or educated people because it is more formal than everyday conversation. For example, they may use the word “on the contrary” in academic situation. On the other hand, they may use the word “but” in everyday situation. In conclusion, people use academic words when it is more formal situation.
 In addition, it is common to use jargon in the news paper and the university lecture because people can understand the word effectively. For instant, they may use jargon such as “GDP” or “FDI” in economics lecture and students can use these words any situation. On the contrary, They may use “money” in everyday conversation. In fact, people can understand easily when they use specific words at academic lectures.

    It's Sunny. I think that your paragraph needs more explanations about your controlling ideas, and it may be better to change words "in conclusion" for yours. It can be used in your final paragraph.
